My name is Heinz Josef Flecken, born on September 25, 1963, and I have had a deep passion for the fascinating martial art of Wing Chun since 1982. In the early years of my commitment, until 1989, I dedicated myself to training and teaching in Germany.
From 1990 to 1996, I traveled across Europe to learn about different Wing Chun styles and study under various masters. These journeys not only enriched my understanding of the martial art but also significantly improved my skills as a teacher.
In 1996, I began to pass on my knowledge as a teacher once again. In the following years, I actively engaged in the Wing Chun community and made numerous trips to Hong Kong from 2000 to 2014. These excursions allowed me to learn firsthand from the roots of this style and deepen my own practice.
My first seminar trip to the USA took place in 1999. Since then, I have conducted seminars in various countries, including the USA, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Spain, Italy, and Germany. These international experiences broadened my perspective and helped me understand Wing Chun in a global context.
A significant turning point in my development was meeting Professor Kampmann from KTH in Sweden in 2012. Our discussions about his work and his approach to applying the Inner Reference have profoundly shaped my view of the ideals and nuances of martial arts. Our fruitful collaboration continues to be a source of inspiration for me to this day.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge and passion for Wing Chun and passing on this art that has shaped my life for over four decades.
